Simbarashe Takuva's Poster on Infectious Diseases Wins an Award for Best Poster

Simbarashe Takuva, a CARTA fellow cohort 2 who is based at the University of the Witwatersrand has won the best poster award on infectious diseases.  Simba, as he is fondly called by his colleagues, is also a PhD student of the University of Witwatersrand.  His PhD research topic is Epidemiological Studies of Impact of Vitamin D Status and Vitamin D Gene Polymorphisms on HIV Disease Progression and Tuberculosis Susceptibility among HIV-infected Patients.  

CARTA Secretariat and the CARTA community at the University of the Witwatersrand wish him the best of luck in his studies.  The news on Simba's achievement are carried in the September 2012 issue of the Health Sciences Research News of the The University of the Witwatersrand, Faculty of Health Sciences.  A copy of the issue is available here for your download.
