5. Wilson Wasike

Dr. Wilson Wasike left the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC) to join APHRC in February 2012 as CARTA Program Manager. He brings to CARTA significant experience in university scholarship, public policy analysis and research, as well as designing, implementing and managing capacity strengthening programs in Africa including graduate training and private sector development. At AERC, Wilson was the Programme Manager in charge of the collaborative Masters and PhD degree programs in sub-Saharan Africa. Wilson completed his first class undergraduate honors degree in Economics at the University of Nairobi, Kenya. He accomplished graduate studies at Moi University - Kenya, University of Leeds, and University of Stirling in UK, where he earned a Doctorate degree in Economics in 1997. He has also studied for certificate programs at the World Bank Development Institute and Harvard University. He has written and published in international journals, as well as chapters in books and monographs in the areas of infrastructure, resource and environmental economics and policy development.
